It’s not everyday you find a brand that has a Men’s collection that is comparable to it’s Women’s. The Fall 2013 Collection that H&M carries features rich fabrics such as wool, cotton, jersey, satin, and leather. The quality and attention to detail can be felt through touching the pieces and even seen from a mile-away.
“This collection brings together different elements of masculine dressing to create a unified wardrobe for this autumn. There are so many options, from oversized coats to sharp tailoring and stand-out knits, and I love how they feel really smart together. Whatever the look, this autumn is going to have a great sense of occassion,” says Andrew Lowenstam, H&M’s head menswear designer.
Here are 5 pieces that should be on every guy’s radar this Fall:
Wool Sweater ($69.95)
This was the first piece to catch my eye! I love the way this wool sweater can be worn with a blazer, trench coat, varsity jacket, or even just left alone and still be the center of attention. Chunky sweaters never go out of style, especially not the ones with strong patterns and classic colours like this one.
Tribal Pants ($39.95)
The tribal pants looked more like they do on the left-side model, as my flash drained them of their rich colour. This is the first time I’ve seen tribal pants available to men that are wearable for a wide demographic rather than just the extremely fashion oriented crowd. In fact, I think you’ll be seeing them on unlikely people just as much as you will on your super style savvy male friends.
Two-Toned Jacket ($99)
When you find this jacket in an H&M location near you, make sure to feel it out and experience the warmth and comfort it’s designed to provide. The mixture of two contrasting materials in colours that compliment each other was absolutely brilliant on Andrew Lowenstam’s part.
Oxblood Corduroy Pants ($59.95)
It’s important that men feel comfortable making bold fashion choices. A splash of colour goes a long way and still manages to allow an overall look to remain professional, sophisticated and put together. I find that men who aren’t afraid to take fashion risks with colours and patterns come off as more confident over-all than those who don’t. Maroon and Oxblood are on trend this fall, as well as corduroy and lucky for men, H&M put the two together to create these pants!
Royal Blue Trench Coat w/ Zipper Detail ($149)
It’s crazy how something that looks so expensive can be so affordable, right? This coat demands attention, with its intricate layered zipper detail on the top collar. The deep pockets, discreet pattern and length make it a must-have that I’m betting will sell out almost instantly!
